In this IMG activity, you define the types of securities that you want to use for import customs processing. Some countries require you to specify a security as soon as you create a customs declaration in the import process. Because you have a deadline for paying the customs duties after the customs declaration, the customs authorities hold the security to ensure that you pay the amount due.
You can configure settings for receiving securities for import customs processing in electronic communications. This involves configuring the communication parameters for received messages. If you want to use electronic communication, you will have to configure a variety of other settings in Customizing, configure Business Add-Ins, and use custom programs for integration with the communication platform.
You have also implemented the Business Add-Ins for sending and receiving securities and confirmed the integration of the communication platform.
For more information about the electronic communication of securities, see the Configuration Guide for SAP Customs Management.

Activities
Depending on the legal regulation that requires securities in the import declaration, you need to specify the type of security, assign the number range for the security license and the text determination procedure for license types.
You can also use indicators to define which objects the system will use to find the security - for example, the legal unit and the foreign trade organizational unit.
If you want to specify a maximum amount for the security in the import process, you can set the value update flag.
Specify whether you want to use access and administrative codes for your security.
Under Maintainable Attributes, choose the objects for which you want to enter values in the maintenance transaction for securities.
In the Communication area, you define the parameters that the system will use to send e-mail notifications to a user group as soon as an security from the authorities is received electronically in the system. This includes:
Action profile for securities
User group as recipient
Sender for e-mail generated by the system
Enter the relevant statuses for securities in the correct sequence.
