Use

In this Customizing activity, you define messages, such as printouts or EDI documents, as action definitions in an action profile. You can use these messages for communication with the authorities from within documents from the following application areas in Customs Management:

  • Presentation
  • Excise duty monitoring
  • Advance declaration
  • Customs delivery
  • Customs processing for import and export
  • Customs shipment for transit procedure

You can define all the permitted actions in an action profile. You also define general conditions for the actions contained in the profile. For example, you can define the way in which the system performs the action (by EDI method call or Smart Forms).

If you want to create custom action definitions for an action profile, we recommend that you prefix the name of the PPF action definitions with ZGTS or YGTS, for example, ZGTSAUSFUHR or YGTS_EXPORT. By doing so, you make sure that your action definitions are contained in the filter attributes of the SAP GTS-specific BAdI implementation /SAPSLL/PRN_DEVI_DET for the dynamic printer determination BAdI PRINTER_DETERM_PPF.

You can assign the action profile to the customs shipment for a transit procedure or to a customs declaration for customs processing service in the Customizing activity Define Document Types.

Note: If you are using SAP Basis 6.40 or later, you can use Adobe to print out documents. To do so, you have to assign the various action definitions for external communication as the processing type. You then have to choose the form type "PDF form" and define the other output parameters.

Requirements

Standard settings

The standard SAP system contains the following action profiles with their respective action definitions and predefined processing types:

Collective profiles:

  • EU Customs Processing - Export
  • EU Customs Processing - Import
  • EU Customs Processing - Transit
  • NAFTA Customs Processing - Export

Country profiles:

  • Austria Customs Processing - Export
  • Belgium Customs Processing - Export
  • Switzerland Customs Processing - Export
  • Switzerland Transit - Export
  • Germany Customs Processing - Export
  • Germany Customs Processing - Import
  • Germany Transit - Export
  • Germany Transit - Import
  • Denmark Customs Processing - Export
  • Finland Customs Processing - Export
  • France Customs Processing - Export
  • France Transit - Export
  • Netherlands Customs Processing - Export
  • Netherlands Transit - Export
  • Netherlands Transit - Import
  • United Kingdom Customs Processing - Export
  • U.S. Customs Processing - Export
  • U.S. Customs processing - Import

Activities

Define actions for each action profile.

In the processing types, define details for each action.

Note: If you are using SAP Basis 6.40 or later, define external communication as the action definition for processing type. On the Document tab page, enter "PDF-based form" as the form type. Also specify the form name, format type, and personalization type.

Example

Notes

Messages are determined using the Post Processing Framework (PPF). PPF is an SAP Basis component that generates actions, such as print or EDI messages, from application data. SAP GTS has its own default tables, tables, which are filled in the activities Define Messages for Communication Processes and Define Control Settings for Communication Processes.

You can check your PPF action settings for consistency in the application of SAP Global Trade Services. To do so, enter transaction code /SAPSLL/MENU_LEGAL and choose SAP GTS Basis -> System Monitoring -> Check PPF -> Check PPF Actions for Inconsistencies. For more information, see the SAP Library for SAP Global Trade Services under help.sap.com -> SAP xApps -> SAP Global Trade Services.
