Use

In this IMG activity, you define print profiles to enable you to dynamically regulate the output of foreign trade documents. This allows you to determine that the system is to print out all the documents relevant to a foreign trade transaction on specific printers.

If you want your inventory management system to print these documents in a goods issue gate, you can call a print function in SAP GTS from the inventory management system. The print profile name from your inventory management system is transferred to this print function. When printing documents, the print profile overwrites the print parameters that are set in SAP GTS.

To assign the printer and the action definition in the standard application, you specify the print profiles and define print profile data for each one. For each action definition and print profile, you can define the printer on which the system is to print documents. In SAP GTS , all print profiles are automatically assigned to the standard application LLS_Standard (Customs Action Profile). The customs action profile contains all the action definitions for SAP GTS. You can use this to assign the appropriate action definitions to each print profile.

You can also choose whether you want to print out documents immediately and you can set an indicator to determine that the system is to delete the print request immediately after printing. If you do not set this indicator, the request remains in the spool file after printing and the document can be printed out again later.

If you want to define a name for the spool request for each action profile, you can enter the name in the fields 'Name', 'Suffix 1', and 'Suffix 2'. If you do not enter a name in these fields, the spool system defines a name automatically.

Requirements

Standard settings

Activities

Enter a name and a description for the print profile.

Define the print parameters for each print profile. These include:

  • Action definition
  • Output device
  • Name of spool request
  • Indicator for immediate printing
  • Indicator for deletion of request after printing

Example

All the documents relevant to export transactions are to be output in an inventory management system at one gate. Because third-party systems overwrite the print parameters in GTS, the system can execute the print requests for all the appropriate export documents. This function allows you to print on one printer the following documents from related transactions and from various systems and to give them to the driver immediately:

-    Delivery notes, bills of lading, and loading lists from the inventory management system

-    Export invoices from SAP Customer Relationship Management (SAP CRM)

-    Export declarations and certificates of origin from SAP GTS
