Use
In this Customizing activity, you define the schema and assign it to fields to define the display or modifiability of fields in general documents in the following application areas in Customs Management:
- Presentation
- Excise duty monitoring
- Advance declaration
- Customs delivery
- Customs processing for import and export
- Customs shipment for transit procedure
You can assign a field control schema to an activity or activity sequence in Customizing activity Define Control Settings for Communication Processes.
You can choose between the following schema types for this UI control:
- Display schema
You use this schema to control whether fields are ready for input. You use the schemas of this type to group fields together for which you want to prevent entries and/or changes after processing a printed message or receiving an electronic message from the customs authorities. You can use these schemas to protect information that has already been declared to the customs authorities against accidental or intentional change in the further course of the process, ensuring that no data manipulation can take place.
- Output schema
You use this schema to control the visibility of fields in the user interface. You use this type of schema to group the fields together that you want to hide in the subsequent messages of an activity or activity sequence. You can use these schemas to restrict the document UI to the fields that are actually relevant for the process. Note, however, that if you hide fields, you have no access to the information in those fields that is provided by the customs authorities or posted through logistics integration. Therefore, exercise caution when hiding fields.
