Use

In this IMG activity, you configure the following settings for time zones:

  • System time zone
  • Standard time zone for user

System time zone

The system time zone is comparable to your operating system's time zone. It applies to all clients. If you change the system time zone in one client, the value you enter will be transferred to all other clients.

The system time zone enables the SAP System to calculate a UTC time from the local time in the system.

Standard time zone for user

You use the standard time zone to specify a user's local time zone in a client. However, the standard time zone is used only if a personal time zone has not been maintained in the user profile.

Changes to the standard time zone in one client do not change the standard time zone in other clients. The standard time zone can vary from client to client.

Requirements

Before you configure your settings in the system, you should check whether the time zone you require exists by choosing the step Maintain Time Zones. If the time zone does not exist, you can create it in the step Maintain Time Zones and send a customer message to SAP.

Standard settings

When you log on to an SAP system for the first time, the system time zone is determined automatically. However, you should check this value, as the system time zone might not have been uniquely assigned.

To ensure that the time zone function is activated, the indicator in the Time Zones Active field is set automatically.

As of Release 4.6D, the Changes Allowed and Deletion Allowed indicators are no longer being used.
