Use

In this IMG activity, you assign combinations of plants and storage locations from your feeder system to legal units in SAP Global Trade Services (SAP GTS) to facilitate the correct transfer of data. If you only have one feeder system or if several of your feeder systems have different organizational structures, it is best to assign these plant-storage location combinations at feeder system level. If you do not perform this activity, when a document is posted in the feeder system and the system cannot determine a corresponding legal unit in SAP GTS, then further processing on that document is blocked.

You have defined legal units in SAP GTS in the IMG activity Define Legal Units.

Standard settings

Activities

Complete the following activities:

  • Automatically Transfer Combination of Plant and Storage Location
    We recommend you use this function as an initial step to transfer all your combinations of plants and storage locations from your feeder system to SAP GTS to ensure all your data is transferred. You can test the automatic transfer function by first performing the transfer in Simulation Mode. You need to enter the feeder system and the legal unit to which you want to transfer the plant-storage location combinations from the feeder system.
    It is important that you check the automatic transfer afterwards to ensure the assignments are those you want. You can do this in the manual assignment step described below.
    You can completely reassign all the plant-storage location combinations from your feeder system by checking the indicator Overwrite Existing Records.
  • Manually Assign Combination of Plant and Storage Location
    We recommend you use this funtion to check automatic transfers of plant-storage location combinations and to assign new plant-storage location combinations manually.
    Enter the logical system. In the field BackendSys. Org.Unit, enter a 10-digit number which is the plant number and the storage location number in that sequence. So for example, if you want to combine plant 1000 and storage location 1300, you enter the combination 10001300. Enter the legal unit and save your entries.
