Use
In this Customizing activity, you define a customs ID for the processing of customs procedures with economic impact (for example, customs warehousing or inward processing). The customs ID performs the following functions in the application:
- Reference for a repository at your company
In addition, the customs ID is a reference to a repository in your company where you store products that are part of customs procedures with economic impact. If there are products in these special customs procedures, they are subject to separate customs supervision, which the customs authorities can perform based on the customs ID. If you store products for customs procedures with economic impact at several locations (for example, you have multiple customs warehouses), you have to create a separate customs ID for each repository. This allows the system to detect transfer postings between two customs warehouses.
- Product characteristic
In the application, you have to assign customs IDs to the products that are relevant to customs procedures with economic impact. Using the customs ID, the system checks the product's relevance for special customs procedures and determines necessary procedures or processes for goods movements.
If you do not perform this activity, you cannot handle customs procedures with economic impact.
