Use

In this IMG activity, you define the procedures you want SAP Global Trade Services to use when determining the active legal regulations. You must make these settings so that the system can determine the relevant legal regulations for the service or customs procedure with which you are working. You must use the country of departure (export) and the country of destination (import) to determine the active legal regulations.

You have defined the legal regulations that affect your business processes in the IMG activity Define Legal Regulations.

Standard settings

Activities

Complete the following activities:

  • Procedure for Determining Active Legal Regulations
    Enter a name and description for your determination procedure.
  • Assignment of Determination Strategy
    Enter the sequence number to define which position this active legal regulation should have in the determination process. Choose the level at which the legal regulation is to be determined (for example, at country group level or country level).

    Note: In the 'Preference Processing' service it is only advisable to assign a country group to a legal regulation, as various groups of countries enter into preference agreements (for example, NAFTA and EU). Therefore, choose Country Group/Country Group as the determination strategry for the legal regulation.
