Use

In this IMG activity, you define partner functions on the basis of the services you want to execute in SAP Compliance Management. You determine these partner functions based on the role your business partners have in the feeder system. Each customs document contains several partners at header and item level and they have specific partner functions. These partner functions may include sold-to-parties, payers, vendors, and so on. If you do not define the partner functions in this activity, then the documents posted in the feeder system are blocked from further processing, as the feeder system cannot determine any corresponding partner functions in SAP Compliance Management.

Activities

Complete the following activities:

Define partner functions on the basis of the services you require in SAP Compliance Management. This means you do not have to create partner functions for every individual partner role in your feeder system.

  • Enter a new partner function and also enter two short descriptions of two different lengths.
  • Select whether the partner function belongs to import processes, export processes, or both.
  • Select the appropriate partner category from those delivered as part of the standard in the dropdown box.

Example

In a sales and distribution document, several partner roles, such as sold-to-party, ship-to-party and bill-to-party exist as external partners. The document may also contain internal partners, such as employees, who are not relevant to the services in SAP Compliance Management. You would, therefore, not create any partner functions for such partner roles, as these internal partners do not need to be transferred to the SAP GTS.
