Use
In this IMG activity, you define customs item categories. You define as many customs item categories as you need to replicate from your feeder system or systems. Each item category is an indicator that defines the characteristics of an item and control functions for the customs documents, therefore meeting the requirements of various business transactions. For example, the item category controls whether the customs document items are standard or text items.
If you use an SAP basis system of release 6.40 or higher and you want to transfer customs item categories from SAP GTS to SAP Business Information Warehouse (SAP BW), you must set the indicator Transfer to SAP Business Information Warehouse Active. However, you can only transfer customs item categories to SAP BW if you have activated the relevant customs document type and the corresponding item category and foreign trade organizational unit. You do this by setting the indicators in the following IMG activities: Control at Foreign Trade Organization Level and Define Customs Document Types.
Requirements
Standard settings
The following customs document item categories are part of the standard shipment:
- EXDLV1 - Export Customs Document Item: Outbound Delivery Document Item Category Level
- EXINV1 - Export Customs Document Item: Billing Document Item Category Level
- EXORD1 - Export Customs Document Item: Sales Document Item Category Level
- IMORD1 - Import Customs Document Item: Purchase Order Document Item Category Level
Activities
Enter the appropriate customs item category name and a description. We recommend you include in your description a reference to the feeder system document and to the SAP Global Trade Services document type.
Example
If you have sales document item categories, you can use the name EXORD1 to indicate that it is a sales order item in an export document and enter a description, such as Customs Document Item (Export) - Delivery Document Item Category Level.
