Use
In this Customizing activity, you define a determination procedure that the system can use to automatically determine the license types that are required for certain business transactions. Examples of license types include a general license or a single license for standard import and export transactions. The determination procedure you define here controls how the system determines the license types that are relevant for a specific legal regulation.
Define determination procedures for the license types and assign them to the individual determination strategies. You can assign determination procedures to the following determination strategies:
The following determination strategies consider the geographic location of the partner:
- Country level
- Country group level
- Control grouping level
- Control class level
- Legal regulation level
- Country group/control grouping level
- Country group/control class level
- Country/control grouping level
- Country/control class level
The following determination strategies consider the geographic location of the partner as well as your own organization (for example, the regions of departure and import during import control):
- Country group/country group/control class level:
- Country group/country group/control class/control grouping level
- Region/region/control class level
- Region/region/control grouping level
"Country" refers to the country of destination in export control and to the country of departure in import control.
The country group is defined in agreement with these countries.
The control grouping and control class attributes are derived from the product master data record in the customs document item for the product.
Requirements
Standard settings
The delivery Customizing already contains determination procedures for license types.
Activities
Enter a name and a description for the determination procedure.
Then assign a determination strategy to the determination procedure. Enter sequential numbers, starting with 10, 20, and so on, and then choose which level you want the system to determine the license type under Determination Strategy, for example At Country/Control Group Level.
The system then searches for a suitable license type based on the sequence and the conditions you have defined for a specific determination procedure.
Example
The following determination strategy is available in the standard determination procedure for transit, CTRY1: Determination of License Types: Country Level: Maximum:
Sequence Number Determination Strategy
10 At country/control class level
20 At country/control grouping level
30 At country level
40 At legal regulation level
The system first searches for a suitable license type at the country/control class level. If the system does not find a suitable license type here, it continues the search at the country/control grouping level. The system continues this process for all other levels until a suitable license type is found. If the search fails, the system issues an appropriate message.
