Use

In this IMG activity, you can assign the various financial and capacity settings to a portfolio type. These assignments then cover all portfolio objects in a given portfolio

To do this, you edit the following:

  • Link Portfolio Type to Financial Category
  • Link Portfolio Type to Financial View
  • Activate Change Documents for Financial Planning
  • Financial Charting Groups
  • Financial Customer Fields Override
  • Link Portfolio Type to Capacity Category
  • Link Portfolio Type to Capacity View
  • Activate Change Documents for Capacity Planning
  • Capacity Charting Groups
  • Capacity Customer Fields Override
  • Sponsor Field Portfolio Type Override

Requirements

You have defined portfolio types by choosing Define Portfolio Types.

Standard settings

Activities

You make settings for the following views:

Editing Link Portfolio Type to Financial Category

  • To edit financial categories attached to a portfolio type, select the portfolio type and double-click Link Portfolio Type to Financial Category.
  • To add a new financial category to the portfolio type, choose New Entries, select a financial category from the dropdown box, and enter a suitable description.
  • To edit an existing financial category, overwrite the existing financial category.

Editing Link Portfolio Type to Financial View

You assign the financial view types which are to be used for the selected portfolio type.
For each view type, you specify whether it should be included when the system calculates the net present value (NPV) of items or initiatives.

Editing Activate Change Documents for Financial Planning

You specify the financial planning values for which change documents are to be created within the selected portfolio type. Enter the financial view, category, and group of the values, and select the Portfolio Management objects for which changes to these values should be documented.

If you enter only a financial view and a category, without specifying a group, the system documents changes to all groups of the specified category within this view.

If you enter only a financial view, without specifying a category and group, the system documents changes to the group values of all the categories assigned to this view.

Editing Financial Charting Groups

The financial charting groups enable you to group the different financial views into a single group for the charting purpose. This grouping helps you to compare the values form different views in the chart.

  • To edit the financial charting attached to a portfolio type, select the portfolio type and double-click Financial Charting Groups.
  • To add a new group, choose New Entries, enter a chart group, and select the financial views to be grouped under this group.

Editing Financial Customer Fields Override

You can configure the customer fields for the financial data based on the object type. If you create customer fields in the customer include and these are not relevant for a certain object type, you can use this function to hide these fields.

Editing Link Portfolio Type to Capacity Category

  • To edit the capacity categories attached to a portfolio type, select the portfolio type and double-click Link Portfolio Type to Capacity Category
  • To add a new capacity category to the portfolio type, choose New Entries, select a capacity category from the dropdown box and enter a suitable description.
  • To edit an existing capacity category, overwrite the existing capacity category.

  • To edit the capacity view attached to a portfolio type, select the portfolio type and double-click Link Portfolio Type to Capacity View.
  • To add a new capacity view to the portfolio type, choose New Entries, select a capacity view from the dropdown box, and enter a suitable description.

Editing Activate Change Documents for Capacity Planning

You specify the capacity planning values for which change documents are to be created within the selected portfolio type. Enter the capacity view, category, and group of the values, and select the Portfolio Management objects for which changes to these values should be documented.

If you enter only a capacity view and a category, without specifying a group, the system documents changes to all groups of the specified category within this view.

If you enter only a capacity view, without specifying a category and group, the system documents changes to the group values of all the categories assigned to this view.

Sponsor Field Portfolio Type Override

SAP delivers a predefined sponsor field in the financial and capacity area with obect type GTO and the Bucket Selector service. You can define additional services for the following object types:

  • GTO (Item Financial Group)
  • STO (Item Capacity Group)
  • GTR (Bucket Financial Group)
  • STR (Bucket Capacity Group)

You link an object type to the service, by choosing Define Services. When you have maintained several services, for a specific portfolio, you can select one service which is relevant to that portfolio. By doing this, you override by portfolio type:
