Use

In this Customizing activity, you can configure the status mapping for the changing of item types.

When changing an item type in the production system, new decision points are assigned to the item. It may be that the possible statuses of the new decision points are different to the possible statuses of the old decision points. To ensure that the new decision point statuses reflect the statuses of the old decision points as closely as possible, you can map the statuses in this Customizing activity.

You can define status mapping between the decisions points of item types and permitted target item types for switching to, and also between the corresponding lower-level decision points.

Requirements

You have set up the permitted item types for switching to by choosing the Customizing activity Define Portfolio Item Types.

Select Decision Point Mapping

  1. You select Item Type = 1001 Concept
  2. Select the mapping for the decision point of the original item type to the decision point of the permitted item types to be switched to:
    • Decision Point = 00001 Specification
    • Target Type = 1002 Proposal
    • Target Decision Point = 0001 Specification
  3. Map the decision point statuses to the target decision point statuses:

Permitted Item Types for Switching To

Similarly, you map the status of the old and permitted item types to be switched to.

  1. Select Item Type = 1001 Concept
  2. Select a permitted items type to be switched to for the selected item type:
    •     Target Type = 1002 Proposal
  3. Map the item type status to the target item type status:
