Use

In this Customizing activity, you can do the following:

  1. Map an item template to a project template
  2. Map the decision point (DP) of the item template to the phase of the project template
  3. Map an item template to a Project System (PS) project
  4. Map an item template decision point to a PS WBS element (depending on your selection on item type level)
  5. Map an item template decision point to PS network activity (depending on your selection on item type level)

    Note: You can map an item template DP to either a PS WBS element or PS network activity.

When you create an item from the item template, the project that the system creates in parallel reflects the template data.

Requirements

  • You have created item templates in Portfolio Management in the portal by choosing SAP Portfolio and Project Management -> Portfolio Management -> Administration.
  • You have created project templates in the portal by choosing SAP Portfolio and Project Management -> Project Management.
  • To use network activities, you must have switched on the switch 0002 Master Switch -> 0008 Enhanced Capital and Resource Mgmt Switch (see SAP Note 1457426) in Customizing for SAP Portfolio and Project Management under Portfolio Management -> Global Customizing -> Global Settings -> Override Default Global Settings.

Standard settings

Activities

  1. Mapping item template to a project template: Choose an Item Template ID and a Project Template.
  2. Mapping item template decision point and the project phase template
    1. Select an entry in the Item Template to Project Template view.
    2. Choose a decision point from the value help (F4) list. This list depends on the selection of the item template in the first step.
    3. Choose a project phase template from the value help (F4) list. This list depends on your selection of the project template in the first step.
  3. Map an item template to PS project: Choose an Item Template ID, Object Type, and a Project ID.
  4. Map an item template decision point to a PS WBS element
    1. Select an entry in the Item Template to PS Project view.
    2. Choose a Decision Point and a WBS ID.
  5. Map an item template decision point to PS network activity
    1. Select an entry in the Item Template to PS Project view.
    2. Choose a Decision Point and a Network Activity ID.
