Use
In this Customizing activity, you can activate the change document function for the following objects in Portfolio Management:
- Portfolio
- Bucket
- Item
- Initiative
Note:
When activating change documents for an initiative, you also need to activate the change documents for the item header (PPM RIH), item detail (PPM-PFM PPO), and project (in Customizing for Project Management under Basic Settings -> Activate Change Documents). - Decision point

The system does not record changes to the following objects:
- Long texts
- Comments or notes
- Documents
Changes to financial and capacity planning values can be documented. However, you need to activate this function in the following Customizing activities:
- Override Default Global Settings, see the Master Switches area
- Define Financial Capacity Settings for Portfolio Types, see the Activate Change Documents for Financial Planning and Activate Change Documents for Capacity Planning views

Standard settings
Activities
- Identify the application and object type of the Portfolio Management objects for which changes are to be documented, and create the corresponding entries. For examples of supported object types, see below.
- Select the Change Document checkbox to activate the creation of change documents for these objects.
If the function is active, the system also records changes to dependent objects. For example, the system records authorizations associated with the Portfolio Management object.
