Use

In this Customizing activity, you can configure status groups by which you can categorize and display the demand work in the Capacity and Demand Overview report.

Note that you can only use demand-related abstract statuses (demand header user statuses and demand item user statuses). Abstract statuses that are related to assignments are not supported.

Requirements

Standard settings

Activities

Create status groups as follows:

  1. Enter a status group ID and assign a priority to the status group.
  2. Map one or more abstract statuses to each status group and activate the relevant statuses.

When a demand is saved in SAP Multiresource Scheduling, the system checks first whether the demand fulfills the criteria that are defined for the status group with the highest priority (1). That is, the system checks whether all active statuses are set for the demand and all inactive statuses are not set for the demand.

If this is not the case, the system checks the status group with the second highest priority (2), etc.

  3. Run the Planning Node Transfer Report (/MRSS/SGE_RES_PN_MNT) for all involved planning nodes.

You must run this report each time you create or change existing entries in this Customizing activity. This is required to re-calculate the data displayed in the Capacity and Demand Overview report.

Example

You create two status groups BILL_DEM and BILL_ASG and make entries as follows:

Status Group ID    Priority

BILL_DEM    1

BILL_ASG    2

For status group BILL_DEM, you enter the following statuses:

Abstract Status    Active

BILLABLE    [x]

PLAN_FULL    [ ]

For status group BILL_ASG, you enter the following statuses:

Abstract Status    Active

BILLABLE    [x]

PLAN_FULL    [x]

When a demand is saved in SAP Multiresource Scheduling, the system checks first whether this demand fulfills the criteria for belonging to BILL_DEM. If status BILLABLE has been set for this demand and if status PLAN_FULL has not been set for this demand, the system assigns the demand to status group BILL_DEM.

If the demand does not fulfill the criteria for belonging to BILL_DEM, the systems checks whether the criteria for status group BILL_ASG are fulfilled. If both statuses are set for this demand, the system assigns the demand to status group BILL_ASG.

That is, an unplanned demand that is billable is assigned to status group BILL_DEM, while a planned demand that is billable is assigned to status group BILL_ASG.

Note:
The SAP Multiresource Scheduling system sets the abstract status PLAN_FULL if the demand has been completely scheduled, that is, if at least one assignment exists that covers the entire demand duration. If you want to group unplanned demands in status groups, make sure to create an entry for the PLAN_FULL status and do not activate it. This is necessary because no abstract status for unplanned demands exists.
