Use
In this IMG activity, you define an optimization scenario. This comprises a combination of an optimization profile, geo-profile, and log profile. The optimization scenario helps to group all important optimizer settings.
You define which optimization scenario the system uses in each case by entering the information in the IMG activityDefine Planning Board Profile.
Requirements
You have created optimization profiles, geo-profiles, and log profiles in Customizing for Optimizer and Travel Times.

Example
For detailed planning, you want to calculate the travel time for optimization using a GIS system. Detailed planning extends to one week in the future. For optimizations that consider times further in the future, it is sufficient to calculate the travel time using a straight-line calculation.
Define two different geo-profiles (for example, GEO_GIS and GEO_LINE). Also define two different optimization scenarios (for example, OPT_ROUGH and OPT_DETAIL):
- For the rough-cut planning optimization scenario OPT_ROUGH, use geo-profile GEO_LINE, which calculates the travel times using a straight-line calculation.
- For the detailed planning optimization scenario OPT_DETAIL, use geo-profile GEO_GIS, which calculates the travel times using a GIS system.
You can also use different optimization profiles. It may be useful to permit a longer optimizer runtime for detailed planning than for rough-cut planning.
By selecting the scenario, you can now determine which optimization you want to carry out.
