Use

In this Customizing activity, you define profiles with the settings for the parts availability check. These settings are only considered in connection with demands relating to maintenance (PM) or service (CS) orders.

Requirements

• You have assigned the profiles for the parts availability check to the required resource planning tool profile in the Customizing activity Define Resource Planning Tool Profile.
• If you want to use the storage location update, you have activated the 1:1 relationship of assignments and demands in the Customizing activity Activate 1:1 Relationship of Assignments and Demands for Demand Categories.

Standard settings

Activities

Create the profiles you require for the parts availability check. Make the following settings for each new profile:

1. Specify a key and a name for the profile
2. Select the following checkboxes according to your requirements:
• Suitable Res Check: Select this checkbox to specify that when employees are searched for in the planning board the system is to automatically check, for each resource, whether the parts needed for the demand are available in the resource storage.

Note that this function can lead to long response times.

• Manual Parts Chk.: Select this checkbox to specify that when employees are searched for in the planning board, you want to manually check whether the parts needed for the demand are available in the resource storage.
  Select this checkbox if you do not want to activate the automatic check for runtime reasons but still need to carry out this check when necessary.
• Auto. Asgn. Creation: Select this checkbox to specify that when assignments are generated automatically the storage location assigned to the resource storage is to be transferred to the maintenance or service order. As a result, the parts needed for the assignment are allocated to the resource storage.
• Assignment Creation: Select this checkbox to specify that the storage location assigned to the resource storage is to be updated when assignments are created in the assigned maintenance or service order components.
• Assignment Update: Select this checkbox to specify that the storage location assigned to the resource storage is to be updated when assignments are changed in the assigned maintenance or service order components.
• Assignment Deletion: Select this checkbox to specify that the storage location assigned to the resource storage is to be deleted when assignments are changed in the assigned maintenance or service order components.
