Use
In this IMG activity, you define the project role types that are relevant for SAP Multiresource Scheduling. The tab page for the MRS demands appears in collaboration projects only if the corresponding project role type has been entered here.
For each project role type, enter:
- A description
- The process variant
Resource planner process means that the demand is assigned directly to the resource planner from the organizational unit for the cProject.
Contact person process means that the demand is first assigned to the contact person for the organizational unit from the cProject. - Whether Manual Confirmation, Automatic Selection, or Automatic Posting, or Direct Allotment by Project Manager is to be active within the selected process variant:
- If Manual Confirmation is active, the requester can accept or reject the proposals made by the resource planner (softbooking). The resource planner then books the resources selected by the requester (hardbooking).
- If Automatic Selection is active, the resource planner first creates the assignments with the status Selected and hardbooks them at a later time.
- If Automatic Posting is active, the softbooking process is omitted in full. As soon as the resource planner creates an assignment, the resource is hardbooked.
- If you have activated Direct Allotment by Project Manager, the requester (project manager) is responsible for checking the hardbooking of the resource for the project. Since the requester selects the resources that are proposed by the resource manager, the resource is hardbooked for the project. This is done using the MRS in Collaboration Projects tab.
Select the scenario for the project staffing:
- Staffing by the requester (project manager):
- This scenario can only be used for the contact person process. When the requester determines and saves suitable resources for a certain role in this process, the system automatically creates assignments for these resources. If the requester is also responsible for the entire organizational unit of the resources, the system displays the following assignment statuses depending on the process variant:
Status Process Variant
Proposed Manual Confirmation
Selected Automatic Selection
Booked Automatic Booking
Proposed Direct Allotment by Project Manager
- Standard process for staffing
- Select this to activate the standard process for resource staffing.
- For each project role type, you can also define the default assignment type for assignments that are created in cProjects.
NOTE: With automatic resource planning, this default assignment type is overridden by the setting in theDefine Standard Assignment Type for Automatic Assignment Creation Customizing activity.
