Use
In this Customizing activity you can choose how the travel time is determined when booking appointments. You can consider either an average value for the travel time or an approximate travel time.
The travel time that is determined here only helps to establish the availability of the resource or the availability within a resource planning node. The resource planner can update the actual travel time on the planning board when planning resources.
The following options are available to you:
- Average travel time
Can be used for the resource capacity and resource planning node capacity appointment booking types.
The duration of this travel time is always the same and can be set for each resource planning node underDetermine Average Travel Time for Assignments. This way you can define a longer average travel time for resource planning nodes that are in remote areas than for resource planning nodes that have good traffic connections. - Approximate travel time
Can be used for the Resource Capacity appointment booking type.
You can use an approximate value for the travel time that the system determines using geographical reference points. The value comes from the approximate distance between the assignment area of a technician, or a "resource", and the assignment location at the customer. You will find more information under Specify Locations for Determining the Travel Route.
