Use
In this Customizing activity, you define the search strategies that are available to the service employee when booking an appointment.
You can use the search strategies for the Automatically Create the Assignment for the Resource Planning Node and Resource Capacity appointment booking types. When booking an appointment, the system looks for available resources using certain criteria that you select here.
With the Resource Planning Node Capacity appointment booking type, only the Resource Planning Node of Resource Planner search strategy can be selected.
You can use the following search strategies for your search:
- Partner role
Select this strategy so that in the event of a second visit or a follow-up assignment, the preferred technician who was created in the order is displayed for the appointment booking. The preferred resource must be flagged with the Essential Technician partner role.
When reissuing an appointment to the same customer, the system can book this resource, which has already been requested for an assignment at the customer. The system displays it at the top of the search results when booking the appointment. - Resource planning node of the resource planner
Select this search strategy so that the system looks for the resources that are allocated to the resource planning node of the resource planner. - Work center of technician
With this search strategy the system looks for resources that are allocated to the technician's work center. In this case, Work Center of Technician must be specified as the order operation category. - Postal code area
This search strategy identifies available resources that lie in the same postal code area as the demand. - Service area
With this search strategy, the system identifies available resources within a service area of the order. The service area can be identified, for example, using geographical criteria. The resources are permanently allocated to the service area.
If the customer's service area is specified in the service order, when booking an appointment using this search strategy, the system will display the resources within the desired service area that still have free capacity. - Resource ID
With this search strategy the system looks for certain resource IDs. When booking an appointment, a customer can ask for a certain technician to carry out a repair. The service employee can then look for available appointments for this resource and offer them to the customer to make an appointment booking.
You will find more information in the application help under Information About the Company -> Administration and Management -> Appointment Booking.
