Use
Users of SAP NetWeaver Gateway are grouped in roles, which are needed for several other configuration steps.
Requirements
Roles can only be created and assigned to users by a so-called user administrator.
Details about different SAP user administrator types are available in the SAP NetWeaver Library documentation at http://help.sap.com/nw70 -> SAP NetWeaver 7.0 Including Enhancement Package 2. In the Functional View select SAP NetWeaver by Key Capability -> Security -> Identity Management -> User and Role Administration of AS ABAP -> Configuration of User and Role Administration -> First Installation Procedure -> Setting up User and Authorization Administrators.
Standard settings
There is no restriction on the number and names of roles created for SAP NetWeaver Gateway.
Activities
If the framework of SAP NetWeaver Gateway is not located in the SAP system the role of the user in your SAP system has to be enhanced with the authorizations contained in one of the authorization templates
- /IWCNT/RT_USER_REP for a Reporting user
- /IWCNT/RT_USER_WF for a Workflow user
If the framework of SAP NetWeaver Gateway is collocated with your SAP system you can follow the procedure below:
- Click on the activity icon. The Role Maintenance screen is displayed.
- In the Role field, enter the role already set up in the system and assigned to the existing user (or set up the role first).
- Specify the required authorizations for this new role. On the Authorizations tab choose Change Authorization data.
- From the list of template roles, select one of the following:
- /IWCNT/RT_USER_REP for a Reporting user
- /IWCNT/RT_USER_WF for a Workflow user
- Choose Adopt reference.
If the list of templates does not appear, choose Edit -> Insert Authorization(s) -> From template.
- Save your settings.
