Use
In this IMG activity you define the value adjustment approach for the value adjustment procedure FVA. The settings you make here are used by the FVA: Update Flat Rate Value Adjustment report.
The system derives the percentage rate for the calculation of the reserve for bad debt (value adjustment) required from the combination of the product type, source system and value adjustment indicator.
Requirements
You need to have defined the RBD area.

Activities
Example
Loan contracts (such as consumer loans) are transferred to the RBD gate by the value adjustment procedure FVA so that value adjustments can be made. The value adjustments are made depending on the dunning level of the loan in question; for this reason the system also supplies the value adjustment indicator in the RBD Gate with the dunning level of the relevant loan contract.
The following applies to RBD area 0001 from 03/01/2005: For product type 34A and value adjustment indicator 1, 2, 3, and 4 the reserve for bad debt (value adjustment) rates 1%, 10%, 20% and 30% are to be used. For the product type XYZ and value adjustment indicator 1, 2, 3, and 4 the reserve for bad debt (value adjustment) rates 5%, 20%, 25% and 30% are to be used.
RBD Area Product Type - Source System Value Adjustment Indicator Valid from Percentage rate
0001 34A 1 03/01/2005 1.00
0001 34A 2 03/01/2005 10.00
0001 34A 3 03/01/2005 20.00
0001 XYZ 1 03/01/2005 5.00
0001 XYZ 2 03/01/2005 20.00
0001 XYZ 3 03/01/2005 25.00
0001 * 4 03/01/2005 30.00
Further notes
You can use wildcard characters in this IMG activity. Wildcard is the name given to a placeholder in the form of an asterisk and allows you to make generalized settings for specific table columns. This minimizes the number of entries that need to be made and provides a better overview. The wildcards in this table can be used for the RBD area and the source system product type.
Based on the last table entry, this means that all of the amounts for the source system product types (entry * = all entries) within the RBD area 0001 in combination with the value adjustment indicator 4 are value-adjusted with a percentage rate of 30.00%. The rate 30.00% is used for all product types for RBD area 0001 that have the value adjustment indicator 4 - including product type 34A with value adjustment indicator 4 and product type XYZ with value adjustment indicator 4.
Note that the specific entries are processed first, followed by the general entries.
