Use

In this activity, you maintain entry variants to be used entering line items in Profitability Management.

Requirements

Profitability Management has been set up, and characteristics and key figures have been maintained for the variant.

Standard settings

No standard settings are delivered.

Activities

An entry variant consists of a characteristic group and a key figure group. In line item entry, entries can be made in all fields (characteristics and key figures) that are listed in the characteristic group or key figure group.

A default value can also be define for each characteristics.

  1. Create a characteristic group.
  2. Add the required characteristics.
  3. Set the required entry flag and - if required - maintain a default value. If a default value has been maintained and the "required entry" flag set, no more entries can be made in the field.
  4. You can use the Sequence field to set the sequence of the fields in the entry template. The fields are displayed in ascending order.
  5. Create a key figure group.
  6. Add the required key figures.
  7. Maintain the sequence and the required entry field.
  8. Create an entry variant and assign a characteristic and key figure group to it.

The entry variant field is checked during the authorization check for line item entry.
