Use

In this IMG activity you maintain definitions of mobile device errors and specify how to handle them.

You define an error profile that contains various error codes corresponding to malfunctions on a specific model of an RFID mobile device. You map these error codes to SAP Auto-ID Infrastructure (SAP AII) system messages based on the activity type (read, write, or All) during which the malfunction occurs.

The error profile name is provided to SAP AII by an XSLT file that is unique to the specific mobile device model. The error profile name is held by the "GV_ERROR_NAMESPACE" field that is a part of the device logon screen.

Requirements

Identify or define the message classes and message numbers in the system that you want to use for mapping mobile messages.

Standard settings

You can access the delivered messages on the SAP Easy Access screen under Tools -> ABAP Workbench -> Development -> Programming Environment -> Messages. Here, you can view and decide which message classes to use for mapping.

Activities

To maintain mobile error messages, you do the following:

  1. Create a new error profile using New Entries or select and existing an error profile to modify.
  2. Choose Error Description in the dialog structure.
  3. Add the error codes specific to your device (see the device's documentation for details).
  4. Select an error code and choose Error Definition in the dialog structure.
  5. For each error code, you define the action type, message class, and message number to which you want to map that code.
  6. Save your entries.
