In Customizing for consolidation of investments, you have not specified the posting item for Net Income - Step Acquisition under Appropriation of Retained Earnings -> Net Income.
System Response
Instead, the system uses the Clearing: Consolidation of Investments item to post the differential in a step acquisition or an increase in indirect investment as an equity transaction.
