Diagnosis
If this message was generated from Infotype 0207 Residence Tax Area, it means that you have not assigned an employer ID number to the residence state you entered for the employee.
If this message was generated from Infotype 0208 Work Tax Area, it means that you have not assigned an employer ID number to the work state you entered for the employee.
If this message was generated from Infotype 0209 Unemployment State, it means that you have not assigned an employer ID number to the unemployment state you entered for the employee, or you have not assigned the relevant tax type (10) for unemployment to the unemployment state.
What to do
Check the entries in table T5UTI to ensure that your configuration is correct. Otherwise you may experience problems when running payroll.
You check the configuration in the US Payroll IMG under step: Tax -> Tax Companies -> Define federal/state/local employer ID number.
