Diagnosis

A current payroll period has not been determined yet for the specified payroll area.

This normally indicates that you have not yet created a control record for the payroll area.

System Response

Further processing stops until a current period has been defined for the payroll area in the control record.

Procedure

Create a control record for the payroll area. To do this, go to the initial R/3 System screen and choose
Human resources > Payroll accounting > Tools > Control record

or call transaction PA03.

Enter the payroll area in this screen and choose 'Create' or 'Change', depending on whether a control record already exists or not.
