Diagnosis

Possible causes of the inconsistency:

  • You have fixed individual items after scheduling, then changed the start or end date for the order at header level, and called up scheduling again.

    Example: You have used forward scheduling to schedule an order containing the items 10 and 20, which are linked by a finish-start relationship. At header level, the start date is 03/01/2004. The dates and durations for the two items are 03/01 - 03/03 for item 10 and 03/04 - 03/05 for item 20.
    You then fix item 20, move the start date at header level to 03/02, and call up scheduling again. In this case, the system cannot determine consistent dates, which take account of the relationships and the fixed item, for the header and the two items.

  • Inconsistent relationships

    Example: An order containing the items 10, 20, and 30 has the following finish-start relationships:

    • Item 10 to item 20
    • Item 20 to item 30
    • Item 30 to item 10

The system cannot determine consistent dates for these circular relationships.

Correct the error accordingly either by changing the start or end date at header level, by changing the fixing of individual items, or by changing the relationships between the items.
