Diagnosis
You want to do a performance trace but the metadata cache is not active. If the metadata cache is not active, for every request the metadata is read from the backend system and processed on the SAP NetWeaver Gateway system. This consumes unnecessary resources and time.
System Response
You can do the performance trace with the metadata cache in active or inactive state. But as performance is wasted with the metadata cache inactive the resulting trace will not show the behavior of a performance-optimized system.
Procedure
If this is a productive system or a test in which performance questions are being addressed you should activate the metadata cache. This can be done in the IMG activity "Activate or Deactivate Cache".
