Diagnosis

This is an error in Customizing: the rule was not configured to create the ID based on GTIN.

System Response

The system logs an error message.

Procedure

  1. Determine the name of rule from the log (this information will be in a message several messages before the error message).
  2. Go to Customizing for Auto-ID Infrastructure and choose Conditions and Rules -> Rules -> Define Rules. For the appropriate rule, set the parameter EPC_TYPE of the activity DEVICE_CREATE_EPC_TO_WRITE of the rule SGTIN-64 or SGTIN-96.
    3. It is always a good idea to copy the rule and make the changes to the new rule.
