Type of transaction for costing
Use
With the transaction type you control that only sensible combinations of costing procedures can be entered for the individual components of single transaction costing or single position costing. Otherwise the transaction type has no significance for costing.
The transaction types from the suggestion catalog mean as follows:
- "Customer transaction" includes all transactions in which the calculation of the interest condition contribution is the most important factor.
- "Own-account trading" includes all own-account trading transactions in which the statement of price gains and price losses, meaning trading profit/loss, is the most important factor. Under this transaction type you also maintain fixed interest securities from the investment portfolio for which the most important factor is the analysis of the margin rather than achieving price gains. Note that all transactions in the area of securities, foreign exchange, derivatives and risk objects are to be treated as own-account trading transactions, which means no distinction is made between customer transactions and own-account trading for these product types.
- The transaction type "non-interest bearing position" is for all balance sheet items, such as property, buidings, equity capital and accruals, to ensure the complete costing of all balance-sheet transactions and the statement of conversion profit.
- "Services" include non-interest relevant transactions where costing is mainly carried out with flexible procedures.
- "Variable transactions" inclued accounts, services and non-interest bearing positions.
Example

- Forward rate agreement (FRA) - Own-account trading / single transaction
