Definition
The reference entry marks the line of a date combination to which the relative entries in other lines should refer.
Examples
You have a combined booking unit "AB" for a combination of free publication "A" and daily newspaper "B".
If you wish to offer the date combination "THSA" (Thursdays in free publication A and Saturdays in daily newspaper B), you must specify that you mean Thursday and Saturday in the same week.
This can be done by making the following entry:

The first entry is marked as the "reference entry", so that it is clear that the second entry with the "in the same week" indicator refers to when the free publication should be published.
