Definition
The margin for the match rate and the threshold value defines the match rate interval.
Use
Dependencies
The match rate interval defines the range within which the concurrence (match rate) of a material with a comparison material must lie - with regard to the defined attributes - in order for the system to be able to use the material as a reference for the comparison material.
- The upper limit of the match rate interval is defined by the match rate of the material that has the largest concurrence of all materials that are included in a reference calculation.
- The lower limit of the match rate interval is calculated by subtracting the upper limit from the margin for the match rate.
In addition, the lower and upper level of the match rate interval must be greater than or the same as the threshold value.
- If the threshold value is greater than the lower limit of the match rate interval, the system increases the lower limit to meet the threshold value.
- If the threshold value is greater than the upper limit of the match rate interval, the system cancels the calculation of suitable references since all the previously suitable materials are now unsuitable due to the threshold value.
The materials whose match rates are within the match rate interval are used by the system as references.
Example
- A threshold value of 0 (blank) is defined - that is, the threshold value does not have any effect. Therefore, the system takes those materials as references whose match rates are lower than or the same as the upper limit and greater than or the same as the lower limit of the match rate interval.
- The margin for the match rate has the value 0 (blank). The upper and lower limit of the match rate interval thus have the same value. If, in addition, the threshold value is less than the upper limit of the match rate interval, the system uses only those materials as references that have the highest match rate.
