Definition

The sales tax code substitutes a tax category that must be considered when filing a tax report at the tax office.

The tax codes for each land are unique. For each tax code, the tax rate and other characteristics are defined in the system.

Procedure

For tax-free and non-taxable transactions you have to use tax codes with a percentage rate of zero (0) if the corresponding transactions are to be shown in the tax reports.

Note

When tax rates are changed by the legislature, you must define new tax codes. The old codes with the old tax rates must be kept until there are no more open items that use these tax codes.
