Definition
The minus tolerance is used to check whether a variant can be used. The system checks whether the end of the remaining term of a loan is greater than the end of the fixed interest period minus the minus tolerance. In this holds, the variant can be used.
If the end of the remaining term falls between the end of the fixed interest period and the end of the fixed interest period minus the minus tolerance, the new fixed interest period is shortened to the end of the remaining term.
Example
A variant for 4 years without minus tolerance is only used for loans where the end of the remaining term is 4 years or more.
The same variant with a minus tolerance of 6 months is used for all loans where the end of the remaining term is greater than or equal to 3½years. If the end of the remaining term for the loan were in 3 years and nine months, the fixed interest period would be changed from 4 years to 3 years and 9 months.
