Definition

Alphanumerichal key that clearly identifies the customer as a customers in the SAP System.

The customer is the business partner to whom the vehicle is sold.

In the importer scenario for the VMS, the car dealer is normally the customer. The customer could, however, also be an end customer, for example, an auto rental company which purchases a complete fleet of vehicles direclty from the importer. It could also be an employee of an importer who purchases a vehicle directly from the importer.

If vehicles are resold (trade-in or returns processing), the original entry in this field is overwritten.

Note

One-time customers (for example, the employee of an importer) can be managed in the customer master using a collective account for one-time customers.
