Definition

Specifies the goods direction of the declaration to the authorities.

Goods movements between states belonging to the same economic area are divided into the goods directions 'receipt' and 'dispatch'. Goods movements between states of an economic area and third countries are imports or exports.

Use

Set this indicator to specify the goods direction of the declaration.

Examples

Goods movements within the European Union are subject to intra- European Union trade statistics (INTRASTAT). You have to register incoming goods in a receipt declaration. Outgoing goods are registered in a dispatch declaration.

The extra-European Union trade statistics (EXTRASTAT) deal with imports and exports between states of the European Union and third countries such as the USA.
