Definition

The standard for bar code creation and recognition defines a prefix, or certain row of numbers at the beginning of the bar code. You can use this prefix to determine which bar code type (UCC/EAN128, for instance) you are dealing with.

In this table, you can set whether you would like to use prefixes for bar code type recognition in your application. Prefixes are often not used in practice.
