Definition
This field defines the number of decimal places that are to be applied to the Application Identifier (AI). If this value is zero, there number of decimal places would also be zero.
Example
The Gross weight in kg AI, which is defined in the UCC/EAN 128 standard, has a value of 330 and is lengthened by one character for a decimal place. The bar code (3304) 123346 describes a weight of 12.3346 kg, since 4 decimal places were defined. If 2 decimal places are needed, the bar code would read (3302) 123346 which would describe a weight of 1233.46.
