Definition

Determines the address (or part of the address) that is used for a routing decision.

Use

The SAPconnect routing concept allows you to specify which nodes process which address areas. Generic entries which ignore address components with a lower hierarchy value are possible. For example, *SAP-AG.DE for address type INT means that a node should process all mails with recipient addresses ending in SAP-AG.DE. The entry DE06227* for address type FAX means that a node should process all faxes addressed to Walldorf, Germany. The entry SMS:* for the address type PAG means that a node is to process all short messages to all SMS numbers.

The routing algorithm selects the most appropriate entry.

Addresses are case-sensitive. Parts of addresses that are not case-sensitive are automatically converted to upper case.

Fax numbers and pager/SMS numbers must not contain any special characters. If special characters exist in the recipient fax number, they are temporarily removed before the route search and therefore have no effect on routing. If, for example, the FAX route DE0622734* is specified, this is valid for recipient numbers DE06227-341775, DE(06227)34/1775 and DE 06227 34-1775, since the special characters (and the blank characters) are removed before the search. If, for example, SMS:49170* is specified as the PAG route, this is valid for the recipient numbers SMS:+49170-3456789 and SMS:+49(170)3456789.

When specifying printer addresses, you must ensure that the device type is entered before the printer name (in contrast to where the printer name is entered when sending.) Example: Instead of Epson_printer, you should enter POSTSCPT:Epson_printer. This enables routing based on the device type. For example: POSTCPT* on node POSTPR "Postscript printer").
