Definition

Indicates that a stock count is to be carried out before the inventory of a material whose retail price has changed is revaluated at retail.

Use

Stock counting is the counting of the materials in a plant with or without the use of the physical inventory functions in R/3. A stock count is always necessary for revaluation at retail when the retail price of a material changes and the material is managed on a value-only basis.

The stock counting indicator is only relevant to material groups whose materials are managed on a quantity and value basis but which should still be counted before revaluation at retail.
