Definition

Use

If you set this indicator, then the system behaves as described below.

  • The Profit Center and Segment fields are added to the database and included in the asset master record.

    Initially, these fields are empty (and consequently inconsistent). In the activity Fill Master Data for Segment Reporting, you fill the asset master data with the relevant values.

  • When you post and enter asset master data, the system checks whether the asset master records have been entered. It must be possible for the system to derive the profit center and the segment uniquely from the CO account assignments and from the asset master records.

    Caution: As long as one asset master record is inconsistent, it is not possible to post to the asset.

  • You can perform reporting at the profit center and segment levels. In General Ledger Accounting, you can create an asset history sheet at the profit center and segment levels.

Before you can use the Reorganization of Fixed Assets, you need to have activated segment reporting for Asset Accounting.

Caution: Once you have activated segment reporting for Asset Accounting, you cannot deactivate it.
