Definition

Name of format to use when outputting a spool request.

The format determines which page format and which device type format type are to be used for the output.

When processing a print request:

You can display a list of permitted format types to select from. For ABAP lists select format types beginning with X; for presentation graphics, those beginning with G. For SAPscript requests, select one of the other format types.

Note: For lists without a specified width, the spool system uses the "X" format corresponding to the width of the SAPgui frontend window. The default width is 85 characters. Therefore, the spool system uses the format X_65_132 and outputs the report in landscape using a smaller font size.

If the last five columns of the report are empty, you can output the report in portrait. To do this, use the format X_65_80 and select ENTER, if a warning message is displayed.

When selecting spool requests in the output controller:

Enter a format type, in order to select only those spool requests that use this format type. Use Possible entries to display a list of available formats.
