Time period in years before storage items can be destroyed. The residence time of storage items is calculated on the basis of the date that the documents were received.

Example
The residence time for storage items was set to one year in customizing. The report for destroying storage items is started on the 12.12.2002. All documents with the Storage Item attribute whose date of entry is before the 12.12.2001 are destroyed.
