Definition
By selecting this parameter you are telling the system that the data records transferred in the file match the structures valid prior to Release 4.0.
Use
In Release 4.0 the "Transaction code" (TCODE) and "Table name" (TABNAME) fields were lengthened and all subsequent fields shifted to the right. The old structures are therefore no longer compatible with the new structures.
If you select this parameter, the data transfer program, however, formats the data records delivered so that they match the new structures and can be processed.
Note
If you use an external interface to format your data for the R/3 System, then you adapt this interface to the new structures. The option of also being able to process the shorter data records will in all probability have been done away with in one of the subsequent Releases.
