Use
Using the blocking facility:
When a quota arrangement is revised, the system computes the quota- allocated quantities on the basis of the selected documents (requisitions, external purchasing documents, planned orders, production orders).
While the quota arrangement is being revised, it is possible that other users may access these documents online. This can falsify the calculation of the quota-allocated quantities. Using the blocking facility prevents this.
Example: The system determines a quota-allocated quantity of 100 pcs. from all purchase orders for material X. Before the results are stored, another user creates a PO for 20 pcs. of material X. The system now proceeds on the basis of a quota-allocated quantity of 100 pcs., although the correct quantity is 120 pcs.
Working without the blocking facility:
Although this can lead to variances in the quota-allocated quantities, it may make sense not to set the block in the following case:
The times in which no user is working in your system are very short. It is therefore difficult to find a time period during which all relevant documents can be blocked in order that the quota arrangement can be revised.
Procedure
Set this indicator if the documents affected by the revision of the quota arrangement are to be blocked to prevent falsification of the results.
Do not set the indicator if there are very few times during which no users are active in your system and the revision of the quota arrangement would thus be prevented entirely.
Note:
No block is set in the case of a test run.
