Documentation

Definition

The inspection type defines how an inspection is performed. Several inspection types can be assigned to an inspection lot origin.

Dependencies

There are several control functions for the inspection type that can be set in Customizing.

Supplementary Documentation - QPART 0001

Use

Only those inspection lots with the inspection type specified here are included when the certificate is created.

Supplementary Documentation - QPART 0002

Use

If the system modifies the inspection scope dynamically without the use of an inspection plan, it maintains a quality level for material, plant, and inspection type.

The system creates and updates a separate quality level for each inspection type for which you specified a dynamic modification rule in the material master record of the inspection setup data (quality management view).

The system determines the dynamic modification criteria using the inspection lot origin.

Supplementary Documentation - QPART 0003

Use

If you want to change data that is related to the inspection type, this field is a required field.

Procedure

Enter the inspection type that you want to activate or deactivate, or whose inspection parameters you want to change.

Examples

Dependencies

When you activate the first stock-relevant inspection type or deactivate the last stock-relevant inspection type, goods must not be in inspection stock.

Supplementary Documentation - QPART 0004

Use

When posting a goods receipt for external processing, the system uses the inspection type you enter in this field to create an inspection lot for the order's finished product.

Procedure

Choose an appropriate inspection type for inspection lot origin 01

(goods receipt for a purchase order).

Examples

Dependencies

The system copies the inspection type in this field into the operation specified in the order.

In a goods receipt for external processing, the system only creates an inspection lot if the inspection type:

  • Exists in the operation specified in the order
  • Is active for the finished product specified in the order

Supplementary Documentation - QPART 0005

Use

The system uses the inspection type you enter in this field to post a goods receipt for an externally processed operation.

Only the inspection types for inspection lot origin 01 (goods receipt) apply for this purpose.

Procedure

Enter an appropriate inspection type.

Examples

Dependencies

The system copies the inspection type from the operation in the task list into this field.

In a goods receipt for an externally processed operation, the system only creates an inspection lot if the inspection type:

  • Exists in the operation specified in the order
  • Is active for the final product specified in the order

Supplementary Documentation - QPART 4300

Definition
