Definition
The previous day indicator in time management indicates that the record is assigned to the previous day. It is especially relevant in daily work schedules that last more than one day (10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., for example).
Use
The previous day indicator is only used if the time data is recorded with clock times. When this is the case, the daily work schedule assigned to the employee is always the one for the day on which the start time lies.
For this reason, the information that is determined from the previous day indicator, is essential. This is the only way the system can assign an entered data record. whose start time lies on the day prior to the start time in the personal work schedule, to the correct daily work
The previous day indicator can only be set by users for partial-day attendances. For absences, an assignment of a partial-day record is transferred automatically by the system and can not be changed.
Planned Working Time 22:00 - 06:00 (10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.)
Recorded Data Record 02:00 - 05:00 (2:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m.) -> Previous day indicator is set to
Procedure
Examples
The daily work schedule NIGHT 2 contains a planned working time of 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. The employee works in the night from December 14 to 15 and substitutes for his foreman from 2:00 a.m. to 4:00 a.m.
When recording the substitution, the previous day indicator was not set. For this reason, the substitution is assigned to December 14 and not December 15. This scenario leads to the following problems:
- Collisions with substitutions on the subsequent day
- Substitution is not taken into consideration in accounting because the subsequent day is a Saturday and the employee does not usually work on Saturdays
