Definition

Categorization of a class item, dependent on the object linked to the class type.

Use

This lets you maintain item-specific data for all objects that are classified in the class. The resulting item category controls field selection and special system activities for the item.

Examples

The class type determines which resulting item categories you can use:

• If the class type is linked to the material master, you can choose any of the following resulting item categories:
• Stock item
• Non-stock item
• Variable-size item
• PM structure element
• If the class type is linked to documents, you can enter "Document item" as the resulting item category.
